BAE Systems Strategic Purchasing Analyst in York, Pennsylvania

Job Description

BAE Systems is looking to hire a Strategic Purchasing Analyst to join our Combat Vehicles Supply Chain team in York PA. The Supply Chain Strategic Analyst will support a wide array of recurring and ad hoc analysis, under the guidance of a Lead Supply Chain Analyst.

Commodity Analysis, Spend Analytics, Program Procurement Strategy, Purchasing Forecasts and Cost Performance are representative of the types of analysis that will commonly be performed. Analyst will also work collaboratively with the Lead Supply Chain analyst to develop and monitor performance against a yearly material operating plan. Ad-hoc requests for analysis to support program requests, executive-level business reviews, as well as internal strategic reviews are also a significant component of this role.

In this position, the analyst will have the opportunity to develop relationships with key stakeholders both inside and outside the Procurement function. Cross-functional analysis may require working closely with individuals in the Program Management, Finance, and Accounting functions.

Analysis requirements are ever-changing and a moving target. The analyst will be required to have a solid grasp of Supply Chain concepts, and the total business value stream, in order to interpret requests for information, and determine where to obtain and how to analyze data accurately to fulfill requirements.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Solid understanding of core supply chain processes including but not limited to, Bills of Material, Purchase Orders, Purchase Requisitions, and Quotations.

Requires a high degree of competency in MS Excel. Analyst should have the ability to construct complex nested functions along with a strong familiarity with lookups, pivot tables, and production of charts and other management visuals.

Candidates should have an eye for continuous improvement, and be ready and willing to improve upon existing reports and processes.

Preferred Skills and Education

Experience with Oracle EBS R12 and Oracle BI Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) HIGHLY preferred.

Past experience in report creation, buying, forecasting, and/or program variance tracking is a plus.

Experience with VBA coding is a plus, but not a requirement.
