BAE Systems Quality Engineer II: 2nd Shift in York, Pennsylvania

Job Description

The BAE Systems site in York, Pennsylvania supporting Combat Vehicles is seeking a Quality Engineer II to support on the 2nd Shift.

In this role, the Engineer works under the direction of a Quality Manager to perform audits, inspections, preventative and corrective actions.

  • Audits/Inspects new design installations for integration into manufacturing.

  • Performs analysis tasks for new designs and design changes.

  • Interfaces with design engineering, program management, quality, and manufacturing to resolve issues.

  • Creates quality documents that provide data to manufacturing and customers.

  • Reviews audits/data and develops preventative action plans.

  • Retrieves quality data and communicates results/status with BAE Systems/customer and develops corrective actions as necessary.

NOTE: Role is on 2nd Shift.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Working knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a relevant engineering/technical field;

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to solve moderately complex technical problems;

  • Familiarity with current computer applications and technologies in applicable quality disciplines;

  • Ability to uphold safety principals, sharing the common responsibility of identifying and correcting unsafe conditions and acts.

  • Must be able to support on 2nd Shift.

Preferred Skills and Education

Ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with imagination while being thorough and practical and consistent to organization's objectives;

  • Experience in a DoD environment a plus;

  • Manufacturing experience greatly beneficial
