BAE Systems Environmental Technical Intern - Winter 2018 in York, Pennsylvania
BAE Systems Combat Vehicles in York, PA is looking for a candidate, a student who has completed at least two years of undergraduate studies, to join our environmental department during the winter of 2018. This internship will be at the Combat Vehicles plant in York, PA.
This position is for an up-and-coming environmental engineer/science major who wants to work at a progressive company where technical excellence is highly valued. As an environmental intern, you will assist the department with daily environmental inspections of the facility. You will also gather and interpret data to make recommendations on eliminating and/or minimizing our
environmental impact. This candidate will also perform sampling of different media to determine waste disposal requirements.
The intern will work side by side with other members of the environmental department in various work settings, to include field work as well as office/computer work. The intern will gain experience with working at on-site wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). The intern will learn from experienced operators how to effectively treat wastewater. The intern will also perform sustainability surveys of the facility to find ways to increase environmental performance by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and energy costs.
Required Skills and Education
-Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program for Civil/Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
-Must be able to work independently and in a team environment while completing tasks
-Proficiency in written and spoken English is required
Preferred Skills and Education
-Must have completed a minimum of two years of course work in an accredited undergraduate program.
-GPA of 3.0 or higher is strongly preferred
