Job Description

The BAE Systems site in York, Pennsylvania supporting Combat Vehicles is seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst. In this role, the Configuration Analyst works under the general direction and guidance of the Manager of Production Systems Control (PSC).

  • Directs, coordinates, plans, organizes, controls, and monitors production support activities specific to production proposals/programs including, but not limited to, ensuring company compliance to contractual/internal requirements/policies and procedures;

  • Is considered the PSC point of contact, interfacing directly with internal customers and programs;

  • Monitors project performance for conformance to budget and schedule and develops/executes recovery plans;

  • Plans, organizes, coordinates, and evaluates PSC efforts in support of multiple, significant developmental and production programs within BAE Systems guidelines and U.S. government specifications;

  • Executes assigned programs within cost and schedule constraints;

  • Acts as an internal PSC consultant to Program Managers, internal customers, providing direction, recommendations, and solution analysis with regard to identification of contract requirements, proposed courses of action, and impact on current and future contract;

  • Establishes, maintains, and promotes solid customer relationships;

  • Ensures the coordination of work tasks with customer representatives;

  • Keeps customer informed on status and progress of assigned programs;

  • Identifies and develops opportunities to increase the value of the program(s) under their guidance and direction;

  • Develops solutions to complex problems in a forward-looking mentality, using ingenuity and innovation to achieve results;

  • Develops bid hours to support proposal efforts.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Business Management and four (4) years work experience or overall equivalent experience.

Required Skills and Education

  • Analytical thought needed to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations;

  • Ability to work independently;

  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal, to exchange complex information;

  • Ability to mentor and lead members of the team;

  • Previous experience working with BOM (Bills of Materials) in a MRP (Manufacturing Requirement Planning) / ASCP (Advanced Supply Chain Planning) environment;

  • Working knowledge in configuration management;

  • Attentive to detail, quality, costs, and time management.

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Continuous improvement experience is a plus;

  • Experience leading a team or another individual with projects greatly beneficial;

  • Department of Defense experience a bonus.
