Job Description

Our Engineering team seeks a systems engineering leader who will oversee a team of experts to design, manufacture, and field systems Communications and Navigation Solutions and Radio Frequency Electronic Warfare products that provide advanced technical capabilities to the United States Armed Forces and its allies.

In this Director level role, you will report to a business area Systems Engineering discipline director and manage a team of more than 80 talented systems engineers. You will guide the team, with members located our Northern New Jersey business center, to support our rapidly growing Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Systems and Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) Business Areas.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the Northern NJ Systems Engineering team to:

  • Ensure technical, cost, schedule, and quality contractual requirements are met

  • Drive continuous improvement across systems engineering practices and among business engineering and manufacturing teams

  • Recruit, retain, train, recognize, develop, and assign team members as appropriate to meet business area needs

Develop a strategy to support business area growth that includes your recommendations on how to:

  • Build and sustain the systems engineering workforce

  • Incorporate industry best practices and new tools and technologies to enhance effectiveness

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Hold an active DoD Secret Clearance

  • Ability to lead a large organization with diverse cultures and individual differences

  • Broad understanding of systems engineering and Department of Defense (DoD) product development lifecycle

  • Ability to formulate a strategic vision and define and implement action plans to achieve goals in a changing environment

  • Proven performance management, mentoring, coaching, and communication skills

  • Experience developing complex systems

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Hold an active DoD TS/SCI Clearance

  • Master s Degree with engineering, technical, or business focus

  • Advanced technical degree relevant to engineering, technical, or business focus

  • Functional Management Leadership experience (i.e. performance management, staffing)

  • Experience across Systems Engineering areas (i.e. requirements analysis, architecture design/development, integration, verification, sell-off, security accreditation, and maintenance)

  • Experience interfacing with internal and external customers

  • Experience developing/reviewing technical and cost artifacts for new business activities
