Job Description

Function as the CSS contract Technical Library Lead in the Operations Department at Surface Combat Systems Center Wallops Island Virginia. SCSC is the premier Land Based Test Site for the Aegis and SSDS Navy Shipboard platforms. The mission at SCSC includes Research and Development, Training, Fleet Emergent Testing, System Integration and hardware/software Certification. SCSC has three (3) Technical Libraries with accountability of over 30,000 individual pieces of both classified and unclassified media.

Technical Library Lead duties include: 1) Functionally supervise, train, and provide direct oversight of day-to-day tasking of a work group of 13 contractor Technical Librarians working in Three (3) different locations covering Two (2) operational shifts, Seven (7) days a week. 2) Monitor the control and accountability of over 30,000 individual pieces of media including both electronic and hard copy material. 3) Support the SCSC Government Technical Library Manager in all required tasks 4) Prepare and deliver administrative reports as required by the SCSC Operations Work Area Manager and Technical Library Manager, such as media destruction reports, media receipt reports and input error rate reports. 5) Track and report Technical Library program progress to the Operations Coordinator. 6) Deliver oral contract status reports to SCSC. 7) Initiate recurring and random material audits and inventories, reporting status of same. 8) Keep the Operations Coordinator and Technical Library SCSC Government Manager informed of all pertinent issues in the Technical Libraries.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Minimum education and years of experience requirement: High School/GED and Ten (10) years of experience in maintaining documentation and data management systems relating to technical Library functions to include Unclassified, Confidential, Secret, Secret/NORFORN, NATO Confidential and NATO Secret material with at least Three (3) years involving any DOD Technical Library programs and knowledge of SECNAV 5510 (series) pertaining to classified material. Ability to perform specialized technical tasking to include review of technical book and report collections, digitization of documents, searching online reference catalog, and database management, destruction, and transmittal of classified material.

Security clearance requirement: Eligible to obtain and maintain a final DoD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). Selected candidate will receive a contingent offer with a delayed start date, until the interim Secret clearance is granted.
