BAE Systems Field Service Engineer M109A6/A7 Modifications in Temple, Texas
Individual must have MWO development experience designing Shop aids and the ability to perform and learn maintenance on associated tasks related to maintaining power plants, engine fuel systems, air induction systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, engine starting and charging systems, track electrical and hydraulic systems, automatic cross-drive transmission assemblies, auxiliary drive assemblies, track vehicle suspension, fire suppression systems and gas particulate filter systems of the M109A6 M109A7 and M992A2 M992A3 self-propelled field artillery cannon weapon systems.
Position requires the ability to lead a team to install modifications and retrofits to platforms not limited M109 and M992 Family of vehicles, test product and verify installed products are in compliance with customer requirements. May assist in planning, estimating, and scheduling required personnel and equipment for assigned projects. Management regarding schedules, technical issues, and administrative matters.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of relevant discipline(s), industry practices, trends, and applications.
Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies.
Shares responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor
Required Skills and Education
Knowledgeable of US Army Maintenance system
Able to interpret and use all types of engineering drawings, schematics, diagrams, and specification sheets VMF S
Ability to read, understand and develop written technical work instructions, modification work orders (MWOs) (VMFs) and other technical specifications
Able to use computers in report writing, data management, and word processing
Able to use all types of power tools, lifting devices, carrying or support equipment, including safe use of slings and chains
Familiar with the use and operation of Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) for automotive, electrical, electronic and fire control systems
Must be able to function with minimal supervision
Provide technical guidance to internal and external customers
Must be willing and able to travel to remote locations with little notice
Ability to record and communicate complex field data to management
Must be able to communicate effectively with government and military personnel of all ranks
Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Good planning, time management and organization skills
Sound interpersonal skills used when interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with Company personnel, customers, and suppliers
Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations
Ability to develop and maintain professional and effective relationships with internal and external customers
A considerable level of analytical ability to analyze and make repairs
Substantial communication skills to serve as point of contact with customers, resolve conflicts
Preferred Skills and Education
Ability to manage MWO S and Retrofit group modifications and software M109A6 M109A7.
Ability to develop in other platforms specifically Bradley M2 M7 M7/W FS3.
Ability to analyze and identify problems and provided technical guidance.
Ability to manage small and large teams and conduct modification in multiple areas and platforms both CONUS and OCONUS.
Ability to suggest and improve field Vehicle Maintenance 5 Year experience MWO and or development
