BAE Systems Program Manager (Material & Subcontract Services) in Sterling Heights, Michigan
BAE Systems Inc and the Combat Vehicles division is currently recruiting for a Program Manager to oversee material and subcontract services for the M88 Recovery Vehicle modernization program. This is a new position within the team and our ideal candidate will be goal and detail oriented, have a foundation in project/program management, be comfortable working in cross functional groups and open to an opportunity that could take their career to the next level!
As a Program Manager you will have oversight of the following:
Responsible for profit and loss on moderately complex program elements involving the development, production, and technical support of Recovery Products.
Oversee subcontract non recurring engineering activities on all assigned subcontractors.
Provides competitive advantage to the company by managing the project/program's defined scope on schedule, within budget, and at the expected level of quality.
Develops proposals and program plans that address the life-cycle of products from capture through production, and post-production support.
The Program Manager is the primary point of contact and manages subcontractor communications with cross-functional teams on programmatic issues.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Highly proficient with Microsoft suite, excellent written and verbal skill, proficient communicator, and problem solving skills.
Ability to act independently within established guidelines.
Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders across multiple contracts and/or program activities.
Demonstrated ability to engage cross functional teams to understand multiple product structures to develop strategies for planning and executing the work to minimize duplicate/overlapping activities.
Demonstrated experience with multiple aspects of program management including: requirements management, schedule estimating, cost estimating, earned value management, and Risk and Opportunity Management.
Demonstrated ability to work with personnel in the following areas to plan and execute programs: contracts, engineering, finance, facilities, logistics, material planning, supply chain, quality and USG agencies including CASCOM, ATEC, PEO-GCS, TCM, and TACOM.
Preferred Skills and Education
Preferred experience in Product Development and Engineering.
Broad knowledge of Finance, Operations, and General Management.
MBA and PMI certified preferred.
Knowledge of Military Operations and Government Procurement System.
