Job Description

This position is controlled by the Service Contract Act (SCA) and is classified as non-exempt by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

This position is for a certified Electronics Technician III whom will support installation, integration, programming and troubleshooting of Electronic Security Systems at Government sites within the Continental United States (CONUS) and outside CONUS.

Tasks for this position include:

  1. Work from specific drawings, sketches, schematics and explicit verbal instructions to compile parts lists, generate engineering schematics

  2. Utilize equipment which requires interpretation including, but not limited to, computer aided tools, volt meter, multi-meter, circuit tester and logic analyzer to troubleshoot, debug and perform routine measurements on electronic assemblies, subsystems and/or systems.

  3. Use standard test equipment and follow prescribed test procedures to perform circuit continuity and current and voltage checks. Test for proper equipment operations and repair or replace defective parts and components as required.

  4. Installation, service, repair or calibrate simple to complex electronic equipment.

  5. Provide feedback and recommendations to engineers form the filed for corrective actions

  6. Participate in site surveys and support or develop site survey reports

  7. Perform other duties as assigned by the responsible Project Manager or senior engineering personnel

  8. Exert frequent physical energy. Climbs ladders. Lifts and carries heavy objects. Occasionally exposed to disagreeable conditions. May work extended hours or weekends. May travel to remote sites.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This position is located in Charleston/Summerville, SC. There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Willingness to relocate one s self is required and is required to be clearly stated in resume to be considered.

Required Skills and Education

The candidate must:

  • Be a U.S Citizen

  • Be proficient in reading and capable of communicating effectively in English

  • Have an active or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Common Access Card (CAC).

  • Have at least 3 years experience in installation tasks, cabling/wiring installation, dressing and labeling, and cable tray and conduit installation

  • Have a current Lenel Certified Professional (LCP) or higher certification. The certification shall be current.

  • Be qualified and trained to work on Lenel On Guard , and Pelco or Axis CCTV systems

  • Have a minimum of three (3) years Lenel on Guard installation or Mainteance experience

  • Have a basic understanding of computer networks

  • Be able to read and work with installation drawings and perform redlines for corrections

Preferred Skills and Education

Preferred Skills

  • Have a good working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC), NFPA 101, ICD 705, and other industry standards

  • Completion of (1) the 30-hour OSHA General Industry safety class or (2) the 30-hour OSHA Construction Industry safety class

  • Experience with installation of fence sensors, turnstiles, vehicle barriers, x-ray machines

Education : High School Diploma or GED, plus at least one of the following:

  • Formal electronics training from a Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or

  • Four (4) year s electronics apprenticeship program. Formal electronics training must be in Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
