BAE Systems EDIS Quality Manager in SE Albuquerque, New Mexico

Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a Quality Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. Develops, modifies, applies and maintains EDIS quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborates with engineering laboratory and production functions to ensure quality standards are in place.

  • Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

  • Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess control and manage risks of product quality and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

  • Audits quality systems for development acceptance criteria (parameters based on product result).

  • May undertake root cause analysis of incidents requiring corrective action.

  • Ensures that corrective measures and deviation meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

  • May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

  • May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality methodologies and utilize quality tools to help drive continuous improvement.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Related field plus 5 years relevant experience (3 years with a Masters).

  • 5 years' experience in Quality Management for Space or Missile Systems, Advanced Systems Development, or Ground Systems and Space Operations

  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with ability to successfully pass a polygraph

  • Strong background in Microsoft Office Product Suites: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio

  • Work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented

  • Good understanding of discipline process; information and data management

  • Contributes to the completion of programs and projects; ability to obtain results and make recommendations

  • Ability to provide high level summary of results and draw conclusions based on interpretation of data
