BAE Systems Test Engineer in San Diego, California

Job Description

BAE Systems is looking for a Senior Test Engineer. A strong background in Full-Motion Video (FMV)exploitation is required. The qualified candidate's tasks include installing desktop and server software, trouble-shooting system and software errors, software bug/enhancement validation and verification, regression testing, writing detailed descriptions of problems found in the software, and performing other duties and responsibilities as required. This position requires the ability to work independently with little supervision.

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Prior military experience in FMV, GEOINT, or IMINT is desired.

  • Bachelor s Degree in Engineering, Math, Geography, or similar technical degree. May substitute equivalent experience, training, and/or certifications for the degree.

  • Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards of UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) video exploitation, FMV (full motion video), video mapping theory, or MOVINT (movement intelligence), and the ability to apply these principles to new applications.

  • Thorough understanding of video formats: multiple mpeg/mpg, .ts, avi, wmv, and mp4 including metadata imbedded in the formats.

  • Experience with SOCET GXP/InMotion is advantageous.

  • Exposure to MOVINT, WAMI (wide area motion imagery), and GMTI (ground moving target indication).

  • Exposure to Web Services technology (for example, Web Mapping Service (WMS) or ESRI s RESTful Service s).

  • Familiarity of Information Technology. Need to be able to pass Security SYO-501 Certification.

  • Basic understanding of software testing.

  • Knowledge/exposure setting-up and running automated test tools, such as eggPlant or Selenium.

  • Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment (open seating arrangement).

  • Strong oral and written communications skills.

  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task, and work well under pressure.

  • Work is performed under general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Plans, schedules, and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.

  • Ability to exert some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
