BAE Systems Test Engineer in San Diego, California

Job Description

BAE Systems is looking for an entry level Test Engineer. The qualified candidate's tasks could include installing server software, trouble-shooting system and software errors, software bug/enhancement validation and verification, regression testing, writing test steps for automation, testing mobile applications on iOS and Android operating systems, and performing other duties and responsibilities as required. This position requires ability to work independently and with little supervision.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor s Degree or Associates Degree and 2 year(s) related experience

  • Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or similar discipline

  • Basic understanding of standard software skills in design and code

Preferred Skills and Education

GPA 3.0 and above in major - College transcripts need to be provided at time of interview (unofficial copies are acceptable)Exposure to multiple high level programming languages (e.g., C , Java, C# etc.)Knowledge/exposure in testing methodologies (e.g., White/Gray/Black box testing)

  • Knowledge/exposure setting-up and running test tools

  • Knowledge/exposure to various scripting languages (e.g., shell, JavaScript, Python, etc.)

  • Ability to be granted a security clearance by the Federal Government

  • Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • Strong critical and analytical thinking

  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure
