Job Description

BAE Systems is looking for a Systems Engineer to work on a multi-disciplinary team in an Agile, fast-paced development environment.The qualified candidate will support the development and implementation of complex software services and frameworks capable of performing data analytics in the C2S environment. This system provides services and user interfaces for intelligence data management and incorporates internally developed, open source and third party applications and algorithms.

The primary tasks include the developmentof Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) and user stories, requirements analysis, backlog prioritization and management, technical documentation, sprint planning, Request for Change (RFC) analysis and customer engagement. Assigned tasks may also include the developmentof software test plans, test procedures and test cases as well as test execution and reporting of all test results for all required test activities. Close interaction with other engineers within and across the scrum teams is required to achieve program objectives. Position may require occasional business travel to customer locations in support of product demonstrations, test activities and customer meetings.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering/technical discipline, and 4 year(s) related experience or equivalent experience, training and/or certifications

  • Ability to perform requirements identification, analysis, documentation, and tracking

  • Ability to participate in analyzing customer needs, and identifying user stories and technical tasks to achieve various Agile objectives and iterative development schedules

  • Ability to use statistical analysis methods and tools

  • A team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic/collaborative environment

  • Good oral and written communications skills

  • Motivated self-starter with good problem solving skills, judgment, and analytical capability

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Agile Systems Engineering related intern or work experience

  • Familiarity with Agile management tools (e.g., Jira, etc.)

  • Familiarity with UML/SysML modeling tools such as Enterprise Architect, System Architect, etc.

  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g. Subversion, Git, etc.)

  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and processes

  • Familiarity with Cloud computing environments ( e.g., AWS, Azure)

  • Knowledge of open, standards-based architectures, interfaces and geospatial data

  • Familiarity with DoDAF

  • International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) certification (e.g., ASEP)
