BAE Systems Senior Configuration Analyst in San Diego, California
BAE Systems is looking for a qualified professional to join our Software Configuration Management team.The candidate will be expected to work independently, take responsibility, and have the aptitude to provide insight to complex problems and propose solutions. The selected individual must possess the ability to effectively articulate technical challenges to internal teams, customer and larger external community. Must have a positive attitude and be able to effectively multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
The qualified candidate willbe responsible within an assigned program(s) for executing all software configuration management activities per the software configuration management plan and in accordance with company and program policies, practices and requirements. May perform computer systems task assignments within Engineering including software configuration management (CM) tasks including performing identification, change management, status accounting, audit and verification in support of software configuration management.
Establishes and manages tool specific software libraries as required. Performs and documents all required builds to ensure reproducible software configuration baselines. Executes release and change control functions using the designated software configuration management system/tool in order to ensure software product integrity and meet program schedules.
Generates and maintains all necessary program software development, release, and change records, including "as built" and status accounting records. Performs software configuration management Configuration Control Board activities which include, but are not limited to, establishing the agenda, recording approvals/non-approvals, and publishing and maintaining action items lists. Actively participates in CCB meetings with cognizant customer and company personnel, as required, to explain configuration status.
Develops proficiency in the use of the assigned software configuration management system/tool, and comprehensive knowledge of company software configuration management processes and standards. Stays abreast of industry standards and current technology. Performs all necessary functions to support both internal and customer CM related meetings. Coordinates and synchronizes with customer CM tools with a controlled and methodical process that requires a high level of accuracy.
Establishes and enforces CM Policy on assigned program(s) as set forth in company procedures or project Configuration Management Plans. Contributes to the creation and maintenance of company CM policies. Prepares and updates project CM Plans and internal work instructions. Participates in company internal and external audits.
Develops and generates metrics as related to Configuration Management (e.g., bug tracking counts, lines of code).

Ability to multitask and respond to adhoc requests, such as creating and delivering media, within compressed, iterative development schedules.
Ability to analyze customer needs and apply CM practices to achieve various objectives within the program configuration control board.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers;
Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents;
Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations;
Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues as well as an understanding and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Analyze, evaluate, develop and implement processes and systems within budget and adhere to time requirements and schedule;
Design and develop products and services using state-of-the-art technology, principles, theories and concepts.
Cross functional collaboration with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Finance, and Export teams.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Bachelor s Degree in engineering/technical discipline, and 4 years of related Software Configuration Management experience orequivalentexperience
US Citizenship and ability to be granted a security clearance by the Federal Government
Solid knowledge of Software Configuration Management fundamentals
Proficiency with at least one code management tool and one bug tracking tool
Familiarity withSAE ANSI/EIA-649Bor MIL-HDBK-61A Configuration Management Standards
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)
Excellent problem solving skills, judgment, and analytical capability
Strong communication skills (oral and written), and presentation skills
Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic/collaborative environment
Strong interpersonal, organization, and teambuilding skills
Preferred Skills and Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar
Experience and administration of CM Tools (e.g., ClearCase, ClearQuest, GIT, and JIRA)
Experience with Continuous Integration Tools (e.g., Jenkins)
Knowledge of various scripting languages (e.g., perl, shell, python)
Active Security Clearance
Familiarity with Agile Software Development methodologies
Agile Scrum Master Certification
NDIA CDM Certification
