BAE Systems Project Quality Assurance Engineer in Radford, Virginia

Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced construction professional to act as a Project Quality Assurance Coordinator on a multi-million dollar government funded project. This individual will be responsible for the quality oversight and due diligence of construction subcontractors and equipment installation for a construction and design project located at Radford Army Ammunition Plant (RFAAP). The candidate will be required to integrate within a team of Subject Matter Experts in an effort to fulfill technical requirements/deliverables to the US DoD.

The following duties are typical of this position:

  1. Ensure modernization Subcontractors/Vendors conform to Quality Assurance and Quality Control requirements defined by the project

  2. Establishment and oversight of compliance of project specific Verification Metrics(es)

  3. Quality representative on infield reviews for code compliance

  4. Development and execution of Program specific Quality Control Plan

  5. Technical review of construction submittals to determine impacts and ensure specification compliance

  6. Corrective Action Issuance and Tracking

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Technical construction code knowledge and field experience

Experience with subcontractors and vendors on construction projects

Ability to obtain/maintain the required security clearance

Experience with Microsoft Office, to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Projects

Preferred Skills and Education

GOCO construction and operations knowledge and experience

Experience with bidding and execution of Government programs and contracts

USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors

Professional Engineering License

Experience with Bluebeam Software
