BAE Systems Project Manager - Planning & Strategy in Radford, Virginia

Job Description

BAE Systems is currently recruiting for a strategic "big picture" thinker to join our Modernization team and help design a master site plan for the facility. You will work on a project team of cross functional professionals to assist in design, layout, scheduling, funding, etc.

Here's an idea of the day to day activities:

Support Program Manager/Master Planner in developing short-term and long-term Facility modernization strategies.

Support Modernization Estimator develop program budgets.

Assist in developing project schedules to support modernization programs.

Assist team to develop Modernization Strategy sequencing schedules based upon technology readiness, construction techniques, and program funding.

Assist in the development of the Economic Analysis for future modernization programs to support funding requirement.

Work closely with the Project Management Team on pre-contract activities.

Develop Process Flow Diagrams.

Prepare Program Presentations and Reports.

Attend and support functional requirements for customer meetings.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 4 years relevant experience ideally in a urban/city planning role or industrial engineering.

Excellent presentation and organizational practices.

Ability to organize and normalize large quantities of data.

Ability to interact with internal and external Modernization Program customers.

Ability to work independently or in a group.

Microsoft Office efficiency.

Preferred Skills and Education

Department of Defense (DOD) projects, munitions plants or DOD manufacturing facilities experience.

Experience working with site layout and designs.

Chemical/Industrial facility experience.

Microsoft Access functional experience.

Microsoft Project functional experience.
