BAE Systems Senior Cyber Security Administrator in Norfolk, Virginia

Job Description

The Senior Cyber Security Administrator position is located on Naval Station Norfolk. The selected candidate will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Windows System Administrator Maintenance to provide installation of Windows Server and desktop operating systems and related Commercial of the Shelf (COTS) products systems support.

Typical duties and responsibilities:

  • Implements and maintains infrastructure including domain controllers, exchange email service, SQL server, Microsoft Development Toolkit and Windows Server Update Services

  • Monitors system performance to support capacity planning

  • Implements and monitors system backups and disaster recovery

  • Troubleshoots network and operating system problems

  • Architecture design analysis for technology refresh planning and implementation

  • Effectively communicates complex system problem identification and resolution with other technical and non-technical individuals from within the company, other contractors, and Government customers

  • Maintains awareness of and participate in planning and execution of upgrades and patches for operating systems and COTS cyber security software/tools

  • Create and maintain multiple virtual server systems based on VMware

  • Provides user support and troubleshooting (workstation, account and system)

  • Examination, testing and deployment of operating systems, and software patches/updates

  • Provides recommendations to the CNIC and Navy regions, tenants onsite leads on techniques to enforce compliance with the information system security procedures for the control of information.

This position is located in Norfolk, VA. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Norfolk or surrounding areas.

Typical Education & Experience

High School and at least 8 years of IT system security experience OR Associate degree and at least 6 years of IT system security experience OR Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of IT system security experience

Required Skills and Education

High School and at least 8 years of IT system security experience OR Associate degree and at least 6 years of IT system security experience OR Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of IT system security experience

CISSP or CASP certification (or the ability to acquire certification within 6 months)

Minimum of 5 years of experience focused in support of cyber security and Windows server 2012 R2 administration

Active security clearance and ability to maintain

Preferred Skills and Education

Certified MS Windows Server 2012 (MCSA or MCSE)

IASAE Level III
