BAE Systems Industrial Engineering Intern in Norfolk, Virginia

Job Description

This is for a paid Internship (Not eligible for benefits or relocation). This position will be approximately 3 months depending on school schedules. May support all BAE Systems Ship Repair locations.

The successful candidate will be working as a member of

the Industrial Engineering Team, and must have a high mechanical aptitude along with well developed PC skills. Lean Manufacturing, line balancing, time studies, station work breakdown and material flow will be part of the successful candidate s daily activity. A basic understanding of programming language is a plus and will help in the discrete event environment. The candidate will be working both on ships and in an office environment.

Required Skills and Education

Required education: High School/GED

The eligible Intern / Co-Op candidate must be enrolled in and actively pursuing completion of a 4-yr degree in one of

the following engineering program: Industrial Engineering and have completed at least 65 credit hours of related course work with a GPA of 3.0 or better.

Candidate must be able to be productive in a collaborative

teaming environment; and demonstrate effective communication skills in written, verbal, and graphic forms. Candidate should have skill in integrating and applying knowledge to professionally define problems and produce efficient, economic, and effective solutions. General knowledge and experience with Lean Six Sigma processes is desirable
