BAE Systems Technical Operation Manager in Nashua, New Hampshire

Job Description

BAE Systems is looking for a hands on Manager to be a contributor on the Operations team supporting Microwave factories both product and test. The individual will provide ownership for all aspects of product engineering and test equipment recurring support. This individual will manage and aid in resolving production test problems on multifaceted test equipment. Tasks require the ability to manage personnel that will isolate and resolve product and test related problems in both hardware and software.

The tasks include coordinate preventive maintenance and repair of test stations and Interface Test Adapters and wearable management.

The tasks also include coordination of validating test fixtures and software and accurately characterize the performance of the unit under test.

Additional responsibilities include working with suppliers and design teams to assure designs are producible and maintainable.

Successful performance will require driving manufacturing test improvements, production problem resolutions and integrating solutions into a lean manufacturing environment.

The individual must be able to provide unified direction to Product engineers and test engineers across multiple Microwave Factories.

The individual will work in both office spaces and in a production environment.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Capable of becoming a team member of the Technical Operations Organization and exhibiting leadership skills that serve the needs of the Product / Test Engineers and the management staff of the factory.

  • Previous leadership experience in a high technology environment.

  • Demonstrated time management, task tracking, organizational skills.

  • Experience in developing or maintaining test software and equipment.

  • Familiar with the control of hardware through software interfaces (automated test sequence)

  • Test fixture design competencies

  • Advanced computer skills including MS-Office applications

  • Familiarity with functional test procedure development and maintenance

  • Experience in conducting design of experiments

  • Must be eligible for a DoD security clearance.

Preferred Skills and Education

Bachelor's degree with previous leadership experience.

Experience in conducting design of experiments, process validation, PFMEA, DFX

Familiar with Lean manufacturing techniques

This position will have direct reports so administrative skills will be needed.
