BAE Systems Sr Prin Systems Engineer Production Test Development in Nashua, New Hampshire

Job Description

BAE Systems is looking for a Systems Engineer to perform Test Engineering activities to develop production test solutions for our Electronic Warfare (EW) products. These test solutions include Test Stands, Interface Test Adapters (ITAs) and Software for In-Process (IP), Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) ranging from component to system level analog, digital and RF products. This fast-paced environment needs motivated engineers with a desire to solve challenging problems.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Design, Implementation and Integration of production test solutions and Test Program Sets (TPS) for testing of production hardware.

  • Troubleshooting both hardware and software to determine root cause of test failures.

  • Prepare and/or review documentation for designs and architectures in accordance with established development processes and procedures. Documentation includes:

  • Test Requirements, Test Design Documents, Test Procedures

  • Identifying, procuring, receiving quotes for part/subassemblies required for test equipment build.

  • Verifying test readiness to be released for use in our factories

  • Prepare and deliver basic customer and technical presentations.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Understanding of design and development of TPS for testing product.

  • Experience in reading/using schematics, assembly drawings, wire lists and parts list, etc., in support of design/debug/repair of Test Stands and TPS hardware/software.

  • Technical writing skills: capable of creating required engineering documentation.

  • Experience in integrating electronic equipment including hardware/software.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work independently as well as effectively in cross functional environment.

  • Background in test development for avionics or defense industries.

Applicants must have or be eligible to obtain a Secret level clearance

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Proficiency in Labwindows/CVI, TestStand, FlexRIO or C

  • HW Integration experience on test equipment, particularly understanding of the interfaces and performing checkout of the system. Examples of interfaces include: Analog, Digital, and RF capabilities.

  • Experience with development of requirements and operational system concepts.

  • Experience in full lifecycle development including system requirements and design, system-level integration, validation, and verification.

  • Experience with Configuration Management, Problem Reporting tools and Requirements Management tools.

  • Experienced with using standard lab test equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, DMMs) and Hands-on experience with hardware prototyping/building.
