Responsible for supporting adherence to all aspects of the SAP Security Compliance Program as stipulated by DoD 5205.07 and other program security directives.

Job Summary:

The individual will work under the guidance and direction of the AREA 5 Security Manager. The assignments of the Principle Security Specialist, CPSO are focused on administering a robust security program for several projects located in multiple locations. Additionally, this position will serve as the Lead Security Specialist for AREA 5 and will be responsible for mentoring the junior Security Specialists in the office.

The CPSO implements all requisite national security directives with specific emphasis on DoD 5205.07 SAP Manual, Vols 1-4 & ICD 705, and exhibits the dedication and expectation of a seasoned security professional while working and making decisions independently without direct supervision. The CPSO works as a team player, exhibits flexibility, sets priorities, and manages customer expectations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The CPSO interacts with internal and external customers or Government security officials in performance of security duties.

Additional assignments include: physical security, information security, security education and awareness, document & media control, personnel security, data transfers, visitor control, maintain security files, handle & processing classified documents, and other security support activities as assigned by the Security Manager. Prepare and conduct Program Security Awareness Briefings, develop security plans, goals, and objectives to comply with existing directives and future requirements. Briefing & indoctrinate program personnel on the proper application of security procedures. Interpret and provide classification guidance to employees, participate in self-inspections as well as CSA reviews, and investigate security incidents. Support other security related tasks as assigned by the Security Manager. Normal office environment; may work extended hours, weekends, and carry on-call pager. Local travel, throughout the Southern New Hampshire region will be required routinely. Other travel may be required on a limited basis.

Typical Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or 10 years of experience in lieu of degree

Required Skills and Education

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance

  • Experience in Special Program Security (SAP or SCI)

  • Working knowledge of DoD 5205.07 & ICD 705

  • Exceptional administrative, organizational, and time management skills

  • Ability to manage time, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions

  • Must have a professional demeanor, good people skills, effective communication, and the ability to perform in a fast paced, dynamic environment

  • JPAS and SIMS experience

  • Completion of Introduction to SAP course

  • Completion of SAP Mid-level is desirable
