BAE Systems Preventive Maintenance Technician in Nashua, New Hampshire

Job Description

PURPOSE:

The Preventative Maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes. Qualified candidate will have experience with various types of production machinery containing pumps, motors, solenoids, relays, and controllers. Candidate will also possess strong electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to interpret schematics and equipment wiring diagrams.

Required Skills and Education

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Installs and maintains a wide variety of pumps, blowers, motors, and other electronic manufacturing processing equipment.

  2. Oversees the installation and movement of a variety of light, medium and heavy equipment.

  3. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, basic plumbing, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.

  4. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

  5. Works from blueprints, equipment drawings and schematics, manufacturers' specifications and literature. Selects materials and equipment for proper completion.

  6. Ensures that the performance of these activities are well documented on work orders.

  7. May be required to clean and service equipment that may contain hazardous substances and to participate in the sorting and accumulation of hazardous waste materials in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.

  8. Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requires a High School or Trade School diploma or its equivalent, and at least five (5) years of industrial maintenance experience.Ability to operate hand and power tools.Good electrical, mechanical, plumbing and analytical skills. Ability to obtain a secret clearance.Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written). Ability to work independently and with other members of the team. Experience with preventative maintenance and repair of manufacturing and processing equipment. Ability to lift 40 pounds repeatedly.
