BAE Systems ITE Senior Test Hardware Engineer in Nashua, New Hampshire
BAE Systems is looking for Senior Test Hardware Engineers to join the Integrated Test Engineering (ITE) organization. The ITE organization s mission is to reliably deliver customer-focused, affordable test solutions which are integrated across all levels of production test. As an ITE Senior Test Hardware Engineer you will use your capabilities to develop interface hardware for Test Program Sets (TPS) to provide production test solutions needed for our Electronic Warfare (EW) products. These TPS will be developed for Test Stands, Interface Test Adapters (ITAs) and other types of Test Equipment needed for In-Process (IP), Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) and Acceptance Tests (ATP) ranging from component to systems level analog, digital and RF products.
ITE Senior Test Hardware Engineers are responsible for developing and maintaining the test solution s hardware baseline, participate in integrating software and hardware for the test solution, and verifying the test hardware s readiness to be released for use in our factories. These responsibilities are carried out either as an individual contributor on small projects or a team member on larger efforts with general directions supplied by the Integrated Test Engineering Lead (ITEL). Additional responsibilities include designing analog and digital backplanes, creating interfaces to control environmental conditioning equipment and supporting hardware test verification activities to certify hardware test solutions are ready to be used in our factories.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Skilled in test program hardware development (test adapters, cables, and interface modules)
Knowledge of test instruments and their use
Able to create, update, and approve hardware configuration in a change management tool
Skilled in test solution software and hardware integration
Possess good communication skills including interpersonal communication and team communication
Understanding the need for and be an advocate of disciplined approaches (requirements, processes, and practices)
Working knowledge of test solution hardware development (test adapters, cables, and interface modules)
Have a closure-oriented and self-directed nature
Preferred Skills and Education
Current Secret Clearance
Competent with design and performance testing of RF circuits/assemblies, Digital, Optical, or Analog circuitry
Familiarity with defense contractors or similar corporate environment;
Knowledge of National Instruments TestStand Process Model
Design of test adapters (Virginia Panel based integrated TAs, Cabled Fixtures, PWB Fixtures)
Experience with LM-STAR or eCASS Automated Test Systems are a plus.
