What is FLDP?
Want to gain experience in a variety of financial disciplines in only three years? BAE Systems is actively recruiting for our Financial Leadership Development Program (FLDP).
Our mission is to cultivate professionals within the Finance and Accounting organization who are 'action oriented', will lead effective change, and promote innovation within BAE Systems.
What does it mean to be an FLDP?
Being an FLDP is more than just a title. It means joining a group of high potential and high performing individuals who are sought for the purpose of becoming potential future leaders within the finance function of the company. The FLDP is designed to attract and retain highly motivated people who aspire to achieve their leadership potential. An FLDP position offers significant responsibility, independence, visibility, achievement and pride.
What would I gain from becoming an FLDP?
Experience: FLDP consists of three, one-year rotations, each with increasing responsibility. It is designed to provide a diverse set of experiences through challenging rotational assignments, financial and leadership training programs, advanced education, leadership opportunities, and mentorship.
Diversity: Rotations will be within finance and accounting functions such as: Project Finance, Financial Planning and Analysis, General Accounting, Internal Controls, Contracts, and various Corporate Assignments.
Job Rotation Travel: The first rotation will take place in New Hampshire with the opportunity to then relocate to other locations outside of New Hampshire based on business needs.
Educational Advancement: BAE Systems offers tuition assistance for graduate school tuition, books and application fees in support of one of the major components of the program, obtaining a Master s Degree or MBA. Members of the program also complete in-house training that focuses on accounting, program finance, and government contracting at BAE Systems.
Support: A significant element of the Financial Leadership Development Program is the FLDP Leadership team. Each participant is assigned a coordinator who will work to expose FLDPs to diverse and challenging experiences while providing direction in choosing rotations, career planning, and development.
Personal Growth: The program seeks to facilitate the growth of an individual's leadership skills and style through the various training and networking opportunities. Each year participants attend week-long leadership development conferences (LDC). These conferences provide specialized leadership training and an opportunity for the FLDPs to meet senior BAE Systems executives and other leadership development program participants from around the company.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Bachelor s or master s degree with a business related focus
Excellent academic record with a GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher
Strong leadership qualities
Ability and willingness to relocate and work at various sites
Superior communication skills
Achievement in non-academic pursuits such as athletics, clubs and organizations, special projects, military service, and prior work experience
Capacity and motivation for hard work
U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a US Department of Defense security clearance
Rotations will start June 2019
