BAE Systems ENgineering Lab Coordinator 2 in Nashua, New Hampshire

Job Description

Responsible for ensuring that the engineering lab complies with and meets all the requirements of internal and external/government security, safety and ISO and AS audits. Oversees the activities performed in the engineering lab and maintains records for classified equipment, fabrication and testing of assemblies/subassemblies, in accordance with the ISO and AS standards. Provides electrical/mechanical engineering support to engineers on a daily basis.

a. Ensure that the engineering lab complies with the policies and procedures.

b. Controls access roster as appropriate.

c. Supports visits, tours and audits.

d. Participates in the resolution of audit finding(s) as appropriate.

e. Acts as a liaison with internal / external auditors and ensures periodic self-audits are performed.

f. Ensures employees working in the area understand established lab Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

g. Identifies problem areas through the observation of lab activity.

h. Monitors lab for conformance to lab SOP s and notifies SLM of any infractions.

i. Ensures mandatory signage is posted where necessary.

j. Monitors the lab for changes and compliance with ESD and FOD requirements as defined in the HW Engineering Lab SOP.

k. Ensures that all lab users working in a lab have the appropriate training.

l. Assists in maintaining a safe, healthy and clean work environment.

m. Submits work orders for lab maintenance and other tasks needed to be performed by Facilities.

n. Identifies equipment requiring Preventative Maintenance.

o. Ensures good housekeeping and determine cleaning requirements in lab.

p. Ensures all Test and Measurement Equipment has been placed into the Metrology system and tagged accordingly.

q. Acts as Liaison between the end user and Metrology.

r. Responds to all Special Process Form (SPF) requests for Calibration repair.

s. Ensures that all process related changes are assessed for personnel, chemicals, equipment, waste, and equipment disposal prior to admittance to a Boundary Area.

t. Assesses personnel changes to ensure that all SHE Dept. - required training has been completed for assigned duties. Ensure that all personnel have been informed of the hazards in their work areas.

w. Ensures that all chemicals have been properly approved through the CMRC process. Chemical approval may be confirmed using the CATS application. Usage restrictions are established by SHE Dept. and communicated through CMRC forms.

x. Evaluates all equipment entering the Boundary Area for SHE Risks using the checklist: Change Management SHE Compliance Report. If SHE Risks are present, contact the appropriate SHE representative to inform them of the equipment change and request direction.

y. Reviews the CMRC (Chemical Material Review Committee) Forms for all chemicals prior to purchase or transfer of chemicals.

z. Accountable for SHE Dept. compliance within their respective areas and supports the maintenance of a safe working environment.

aa. Confirms that personnel working in lab area are performing their tasks in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

ab. Monitors SHE Dept. procedures and practices, and propose recommendations for improvement.

ac. Ensures that the requirements of the CMRC form (e.g., Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements) are communicated to lab personnel and that these requirements are enforced.

ad. Ensures that all expired chemicals within their assigned lab(s) are identified and labeled or disposed of properly.

ae. Prepare requisitions, purchase orders, etc.

af. Follows-up & expedites processing & procurement of material to assure delivery and availability of materials by date required.

ag. Maintains accurate records of P-card purchases, Buysite orders, manual purchase requisitions.

Test Equipment knowledge, with ability to cross reference test equipment capabilities. Organized team player, with a sense of continuous improvement, and driven to excel in areas of lab compliance concerns and program execution.

Preferred Skills and Education

Associate's Degree in Electronic, Mechanical Technology or Business Management, or its equivalent and a minimum or (4) years experience.
