Job Description

BAE Systems, Nashua, NH is looking for a Supplier Quality Manager to manage the Supplier Quality Engineers in the Electronic Combat Systems Business Area. The Supplier Quality Manager will consult with new programs as well as legacy programs to insure suppliers are poised for success to meet requirements levied upon them.

The Supplier Quality Manager will be responsible for leading a team of Quality professionals that interpret contractual requirements and flow down those requirements via PO clauses to suppliers. The leader will be responsible for developing a collaborative environment with program quality engineers and other key functions to foster a zero defect environment inclusive APQP/PPAP (AS9145) and lean six sigma tools.

The engaged leader will investigate, evaluate, and resolve supplier quality problems by conducting audits, analyzing defect trends, issuing Supplier Corrective Actions, and leading continuous improvement projects using the Science of Quality to drive a zero defects mindset. The candidate will maintain and present Supplier Performance metrics along with recommended actions at the Corrective Action Review Board as well as support the ECS Supplier Review Board. Additionally, the SQM will Evaluate and assess the impact of nonconforming product and suppliers corrective actions, including timely communication with program teams of both.

Strong communication and management skills are required in order to successfully collaborate with a cross-functional team of Operations, Engineering, Program Quality, Supply Chain, and suppliers to deliver first time quality and drive non-conformances to closure should they occur

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

  • Self-starting problem solver with a fact based focus on continuous improvement, and a demonstrated history of leadership

  • GD&T inspection skills including experience with the review and approval of FAIRs based on AS9102 industry standard

  • Expertise in the review and approval of recorded supplier data for EEE parts.

  • Strong understanding of 8D (or equivalent) problem solving methodology and the ability to work with suppliers to provide robust corrective action responses.

  • Experience operating in an ISO9001/AS9100 Quality Management Systems environment

  • Audit experience

  • Experience dealing with internal and external customers

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Certification and experience with IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC-A-600, MIL-STD-883 methods 2010, 2017, 2032, MIL-STD-750

  • TipQA and Oracle experience

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
