Job Description Repair Station Chief Inspector

Duties:

Determine that all technical data on all articles maintained or altered by the Repair Station are secured and kept current with latest revisions. This data will include Repair Station process specification on limited rating specialized services, manufacturer s maintenance and overhaul manuals, service bulletins, part specifications FAA airworthiness directives, related FAA data, and other technical data used by the Repair Station

Performs inspection of aircraft systems, equipment and parts for operation and conformance to government (both FAA and NAVAIR) and company standards and specifications

Inspects the installation, repair and operation of electrical wiring, electronic systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, oil and emergency systems and other parts and equipment of aircraft

Inspects adjustments, structural and electrical repairs or modifications made on the aircraft in accordance with applicable aircraft maintenance Technical Orders (T.O.), TCTO s, work orders, work cards, aircraft structural repair manuals and modifications

Maintain the Repair Station Manual, Quality Control Manual and Training Manual

Perform Receiving Inspections on all incoming raw materials and purchased parts

Perform machined parts inspections, weld inspections, and electrical inspections

Proficient in blueprint reading / interpretation and shop mathematics

Required Skills and Education

Minimum Qualifications:

1.High School Diploma or GED and 10 years minimum experience in the aviation industry

2.Possess an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license

3.Inspection Authorization (IA) Certificate preferred

4.A minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience on different types of large airplanes with an air carrier or certified repair station. 1year of which must have been as a maintenance inspector

5.Familiar with CAMP MTX and COORIDOR maintenance management programs

6.Must be able to work in and around confined spaces such as fuel tanks

7.Working knowledge of AS9100 and AS9110 Quality Management System standards

8.Working knowledge of FOD & Tool Control, Technical Orders (T.O.), TCTO s, FAA FARs and Aircraft Maintenance Information Systems

9.Must be able to read, write and speak English

10.Possess effective writing skills for duties such as documenting discrepancies found

11.Must have effective communication skills to dealing with the both civilian and government customers

12.Able to use inspection measuring devices as well as the use of mirror and flashlight to accomplish inspections

13.Must be able to climb, kneel, stoop and stand to accomplish inspections

14.Must be able to work flexible and extended hours

15.Secret clearance preferred / ability to obtain a secret clearance
