BAE Systems Capture Manager in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Description

BAE Systems is hiring a Capture Manager. Position can be located in Minneapolis, MN or Arlington, Virginia.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading all aspects of the capture activity and winning the order in line with the specified terms and margin target, for a specific opportunity

  • Leads development and implementation of the Capture Plan encompassing Win Strategy, Price to Win, Proposal development and Win themes

  • Develops the Business Case for continuing to pursue and bidding the opportunity including capture budget

  • Plans, appropriately tailors and uses relevant processes, including management reviews and approvals

  • Leads team to develop management review content and conducts briefings

  • Identifies requirements for capture team members & sets their objectives

  • Leads customer requirement influencing strategy, requirement interpretation and develops solutions including make/buy and partnering /teaming strategy

  • Leads stakeholder management and keeps the business leadership team informed and engaged, including timely escalation of issues needing resolution

  • Ensures smooth hand-over to Project Manager for delivery phase

  • Incorporate best practices and key lessons learned from past pursuits as well as documentation of lessons learned on current activity

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor s degree in technical field or business

  • At least 5 years of capture management or equivalent experience in the defense industry, government/military, or in a science and technology community

  • Must be willing to travel (international and domestic) and work away from home for extended periods of time and with short notice

  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries; leading internal and external meetings and cross-discipline teams in development of customer solutions

  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) and listening skills, and orientation to details, and the ability to make informed decisions;

  • A creative problem solver.

  • Willingness to take ownership, accept accountability, and thrive under pressure.

  • An understanding of U.S. Government export rules and regulations as stipulated by the Department of Commerce's Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the Department of State's International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Well-versed in the rules and regulations of Foreign Military Sales

  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Experience with or a good working knowledge of winning international business

  • Experience with or a good working knowledge of the US Government FMS processes

  • Experienced and trained in the Shipley Capture Management process or equivalent

  • Master's degree in math, science, engineering, or business administration desired. Knowledge of DoD Acquisition processes.

  • Knowledge of naval and army weapons to include electric weapons technologies

  • Excellent network with a proven ability to build successful, long-term customer relationships

  • Superior research, analytical, and negotiating skills.
