BAE Systems Systems Engineer - RF, Modeling, and Simulation in Merrimack, New Hampshire
FAST Labs is the research and development arm of BAE Systems. We are seeking an individual with demonstrated leadership skills working with multi-functional teams in a fast paced DARPA environment. Candidates must possess strong organizational and presentation skills and possess a good background in signal processing, troubleshooting, and fault isolation abilities. Much of the work will be performed in the context of small teams consisting of other engineers and academically strong assistant researchers. Will be expected to prepare documentation for system designs and architectures in accordance with established systems development processes and procedures. Verifies and validates aspects of system designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements. Potentially develops and analyzes complex systems solutions.
Position may function within one primary discipline, or may have broader exposure to interdisciplinary work. Position functions across multiple related projects. Work performed is considered moderately complex within the spectrum of the discipline and in many cases takes into account concepts from other disciplines. Exercises some discretion and independent judgment in project work. Will be expected to independently develop novel approaches to assignments. Will be expected to mentor and guide engineers in activities, and conversely will be mentored by subject matter experts to expand domain knowledge.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
An active US Secret clearance and Top Secret eligibility is required.
Systems Engineering (need experience in at least half of below, or expertise in a few of below):
Data Analysis, Modeling, and Simulation
Dynamic Requirements Management
Integration and Testing
Preferred Skills and Education
An active US Top Secret clearance, and SCI eligibility is also strongly desired. Solid military or commercial development experience. Experience with US Department of Defense product development. Experience with design, development, and field testing systems for the US Government/DARPA.
RF Engineering (desire experience in any/all below):
Ability to perform complicated Link Budget Analysis along with sophisticated channel modeling
Design ability in RF Front End electronics, e.g. tunable band-pass, notch, PSs, LNAs, etc.
Ability to determine RFFE/RFIC performance and noise sources, e.g. NF, spurs, IP3, SFDR, etc.
Aperture understand and installation and configuration challenges for airborne, vehicular, ground, and human mounting
Detailed Size, Weight, Power and Cost trade space analysis
Spectrum utilization for entire EM
Understanding of Line-of-sight, BLOS, SATCOM, MIMO RF propagation
Applications to Comms, Radar, EW, ESM, SIGINT, etc. domains (should be able to move fluently between domains without difficulty)
