Duties include developing software designs for complex Infrared Aircraft protection systems where you will independently perform real-time, embedded software development utilizing sound Object Oriented principles, conforming to existing code development strategies and processes. You will be designing and evaluating complex software designs to identify design flaws, troubleshoot problems during integration and test, and help with preparing design documentation in accordance with established processes. You will verify complex designs to ensure conformance with specifications and customer requirements and assist in the development of software requirements, cost estimates and the preparation of proposals. Opportunities are available to grow into a technical lead on the program where you will mentor your team and present the technical design at technical interchange meetings with the customer. You will utilize a Windows PC for software development, and potentially other operating systems (such as Linux) for integration and test.

You will provide project management reporting, documentation, and updates to internal project management. You may be managing project tasks (resource allocation and scheduling) for groups (3-8) and there may be opportunities to participate and brief technical content to the customer during external reviews.

Candidates will be required to obtain and keep a security clearance.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Science, or other Scientific degree with suitable software engineering content, with 6 year of experience or Master's degree in same disciplines with 4 years experience or Doctorate in same disciplines with 3 years experience.

Proficient in C, C

Real-time embedded development experience

Object Oriented Design/Development

Preferred Skills and Education

Ada experience strongly preferred

C#/.NET experience a plus

Python, Java experience

Object Oriented Design/Development

Windows/Unix/Linux OS

Technical Team Lead experience a plus.

Magic Draw experience a plus.
