BAE Systems Senior Principal Software Engineer in Merrimack, New Hampshire
BAE Systems is seeking talented Senior Software Principal Level Software engineers who are looking for a company that fosters a work environment in which technical excellence is highly valued. You will be an integrated team member collaborating with System, Hardware, and Test engineers in one or more of the phases of Project Planning, Requirements Development, Design, Development, Integration and Testing. You will apply your skills to develop high-quality real-time embedded software for either new or fielded infrared aircraft platforms.
Duties include creating and analyzing highly complex infrared aircraft protection software engineering architecture and designs on projects and plan critical long-range technical requirements for the program. You will be leading the evaluation of complex software designs to identify design flaws and maintain close contact with customer (external or internal) or contractor representatives to ensure adherence to specifications and schedules. You may participate in identifying new business and may serve as a group leader or mentor for other software engineers in the business area. You will lead real-time, embedded software development utilizing sound Object Oriented principles, conforming to existing code development strategies and processes and will be responsible for providing design documentation intended to be used within complex programs or across sets of programs in accordance with established processes. You will utilize either a Windows PC or Linux based software development environment and will be integrating and testing in the selected target test environments.
You will provide Software Project Management reporting, documentation and providing updates to Program Management. You will be the Software Technical Leader on small project initiatives. You will participate in external project interactions with other companies.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Candidates must be able to obtain and have a secret clearance before beginning employment.
Must be a US Citizen.
Bachelor's degree in CS (Computer Science), CE (Computer Engineering), ECS (Electrical and Computer Science), or other Scientific degree with suitable software engineering content, with 12 years of professional experience or Master's degree in same with 10 years experience.
