BAE Systems Maintenance Technician Advanced Composites Manufacturing in Merrimack, New Hampshire

Job Description

This position will provide support to the Advanced Composites Manufacturing (ACM) Factory on a multitude of equipment, facilities, PM, and 7S tasks as assigned by factory management. The individual will work closely with the Product Stream Manager for the ACM factory, the Technical Operations team, and the manufacturing team including the Value Stream Specialists on a variety of tasks which will require both mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Required Skills and Education

  • Identify items that need to be addressed by the Facilities and/or Plant Engineering team, generate work orders providing detailed instructions of the work required, and track the work orders to closure. Support documentation of preventative maintenance tasks completed as part of AS9100D compliance.

  • Supplement the PM and Facilities team by performing routine maintenance and/or repair of equipment as required to support the manufacturing floor. Equipment includes autoclaves, ovens, freezers, machining centers, and a variety of light manufacturing equipment and hand tools. Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning equipment, fixtures, cables, and other equipment.

  • Support the deployment of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tools, potentially including Grand PM software. Working with the Technical Operations team, develop TPM plans for various pieces of equipment and tools and input requirements into Grand PM. This will include a wide variety of items that may include thermocouples, air and vacuum hoses, circular chart recorders, etc. Track effectiveness of TPM initiatives and ensure timely closure of required actions.

  • Support plant rearrangement activities as required, including light assembly work of storage solutions, work benches, and new equipment.

  • Support coordination of chemical disposal and shelf life expiration of chemicals on hand.

  • Support factory audits for FOD, PM documentation, and equipment validation.

  • Provide additional support for ESD bench setup and certification.

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Experience with both Mechanical and Electrical systems and equipment

  • Associate's degree in Mechanical or Electrical discipline or trade

  • Electrician's license or certifications a plus
