BAE Systems CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift in Merrimack, New Hampshire

Job Description

Please note this position supports our second shift

Sets up and operates a variety of CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machines for the manufacture of parts requiring high volume production and diverse machining operations.

Works from established programs to perform standard metal cutting operations. Determines appropriate speeds and feeds based on equipment used.

Follows set-up instructions to attach holding fixtures, and insert specified tools in tool magazine according to sequence, depth and size requirements.

Troubleshoots simple programs and makes necessary edits to achieve specifications. Adjusts machine to achieve specified measurements and continuous operation as well as monitors for tool breakage and wear.

Verifies first place dimensions using precision measuring instruments.

May be required to fabricate simple tooling.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as required

Required Skills and Education

Requires a High School diploma or equivalent plus two (2) years general machining experience.

Must have the ability to set-up and operate multi-axis CNC machining centers. Must be able to follow online documentation in order to extract information necessary to set-up and operate 5 axis machining center. Must have working knowledge of inspection and measuring tools. Must have Proto-Trak experience.
