BAE Systems Sr Geospatial Analyst/Photogrammetrist in Mclean, Virginia
Extract and/or acquire geospatial information, derivative information and multi-INT data for analysis, visualization, and modeling to solve problems and enhance the GEOINT knowledge of specific intelligence issues. Exploits and analyzes geospatial, terrain, and source information. Perform feature extraction and attribution. Produce multi-layered geospatial products to provide visualization and enhance knowledge in solving intelligence issues. Provide support specifically related to the exploitation of imagery in one of the following sensor disciplines: radar, infrared, spectral, or geospatial (to include photogrammetry and LiDAR) to assist the government/contractor team in optimizing the collection and exploitation of varied imagery data types, especially those categorized as AGI. The selected candidate will apply AGI techniques and capabilities to mission issues, as well as investigating innovative and emerging technologies to incorporate into analysis. The evaluation of commercial, academic, and outside approaches and algorithms, refinement, development of measures of effectiveness, improvements to system environments, and creation of new procedures will be commonplace.Assist in identifying compiling, and assessing geospatial and imagery data sets. Collaborate with customers, partner, and other analysts.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
10 years of relevant experience.
Candidate must possess in depth understanding of, and experience using the following:
Experience using ESRI products developing applications in ArcGIS using ArcObjects (preferred) or MapObjects; modeling with ArcSDE; GIS Server or ArcIMS site development, implementations and maintenance.
Imagery Exploitation Software (SOCET GXP, RemoteView) and working knowledge of Cedalion.
Knowledge of applied image processing and scientific analysis of imagery (SAR, IR, Spectral, LIDAR, Photogrammetry)
Knowledge of image foundation, and associated discipline phenomenology.
Experience in scientifically processing imagery (SAR, IR, Spectral, and Lidar) from Civil and Commercial imaging systems, proficiency with techniques, algorithms, and scientific analysis of associated discipline data processing using RSI ENVI.
-Proficiency using ITT ENVI COTS image processing software, ERADAS IMAGINE, MS Office, Windows, and knowledge of programming languages such as IDL, R, Python.
Regular expression usage, temporal expressions, and geospatial representations (datum, projections, and coordinate systems).
Network analysis, data management, versioned editing.
General All-source intelligence analysis to include permutations and conversion of geo-database files, shape files, Google Earth KML/KMZ, and CSV files.
Must possess the ability to communicate effectively in writing and oral presentations, complete task in a timely manner with minimal supervision, and the ability to work cooperatively and effectively as a team member.
Preferred Skills and Education
Degree in GIS related field.
Prior experience supporting a counterterrorism mission.
