BAE Systems Deputy Program Manager in McLean, Virginia
BAE Systems is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as a Deputy Program Manager of a large, multi-faceted analytic contract in support of Mission Intel under the Intel Solutions Business Area within I&S. The successful candidate will be co-located with the customer and working on site in the Tyson's Corner area. They will be responsible for effectively managing and leading specialty teams covering quality analysis and control, technical requirements, biometrics, special projects, and training, for a group comprised of approximately 30 employees.
Responsibilities include building and enhancing the success of established high performing specialty teams in executing technical improvements, training and education, biometrics, and special projects; and supporting the Program Manager in leading all Program planning and execution functions including cost, schedule, technical, security, process innovation, and reporting. In addition, as a member of the Program Management Team, the Deputy Program Manager will be expected to be in regular contact with Government program managers and COTR and will be involved in the delivery schedule, award fee criteria, and quality and efficiency initiatives. The successful candidate will continue to shape the strategic direction of the Program, effectively connecting the key elements of people, processes and technology, to maintain a competitive edge.
Effectively lead, manage, and develop employees.
Manage four specialty teams to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Statement of Work and to develop and implement Award Fee deliverables.
Assist Program Manager in meeting/exceeding financial targets; occasionally brief senior BAE Systems managers on the health of the program.
Analyze and manage the introduction of new processes and systems to maximize efficiencies and reduce redundancies.
Ensure timely and effective execution of organizational initiatives: diversity, ethics, efficiency, training and education, and people development.
Ensure organizational and functional alignment in the design and execution of initiative efforts.
Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policy across all areas of responsibility.
Develop required inputs for Program business reviews including Monthly Status Reports and Quarterly Program Management Reviews to include program highlights, contract status and identification of key issues.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
*College degree (BA/BS or higher) or five years experience serving as a lead with increasing responsibilities on projects of work related to document analysis and/or HUMINT reporting and the national Watchlist process.
*An understanding of HUMINT and/or clandestine collection activities, background in Document Analysis and Project Management (PM) with three years serving as a PM or DPM for programs or contracts of a similar size and scope.
*Proven ability to identify and provide solutions to innovate technology.
*Certification in project management (PMP certification via DAU, PMI, or sponsor PM course certification) or willingness to obtain within six months of selection.
*Familiarity in strategic planning, training development, and biometric analysis.
*Experience managing costs and personnel associated with multi-million dollar contracts
*Experienced in leading dispersed teams, designing and leading transformational and transactional change, improving processes, analyzing and mitigating risk.
*Skilled at managing large/complex projects.
*Ability to communicate and collaborate with senior intelligence, military, diplomatic, law enforcement and corporate leaders worldwide.
*Must possess a current clearance with IC polygraph.
Preferred Skills and Education
- An advance degree is desired. Directly related work experience may be substituted for degree requirements/ in lieu of bachelor s degree and must be in addition to the five years of program management experience.
