BAE Systems Capture Manager in McLean, Virginia
The BAE Systems Intelligence & Security (I&S) Sector is seeking a Capture Manager to support its Air Force Solutions (AFS) business area. This role will be responsible for leading capture activities, and supporting winning proposals. The Capture Manager will create capture plans, manage capture budget, interact with potential customer(s), qualify opportunities, and support proposal development activities. The candidate will support captures for opportunities >$50M and associated with one or many of the following market areas: Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), Air Force Combat Command, Air Force Mobility Command, Air Force Research Laboratories, Air Force Sustainment Center, and Air Force Test Center, Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center. The position is located in McLean, VA,but alternative locations can be entertained.
Specific responsibilities include:
Works with Business Development to identify and qualify opportunities and grow the pipeline
Leads development and implementation of the Capture Plan encompassing Win Strategy, Price to Win etc.
Develops the Business Case for continuing to pursue and bidding the Opportunity including Capture budget
Directs the capture and forms and leads the Capture Team
Plans, appropriately tailors and uses relevant processes, and phase reviews and approvals
Identifies requirements for Capture team members & sets their objectives
Leads customer requirement influencing strategy, requirement interpretation and Solution option generation including make/buy and partnering /teaming strategy
Leads stakeholder management and keeps the Business Leadership Team informed and engaged, including timely escalation of issues needing resolution
Supports the customer relationship management strategy and engages senior executives in contact activity
Uses customer review data to truly understand customer perceptions and support capture activity.
Ensures smooth hand-over to Project Manager for delivery phase
Leads lessons learnt activity
Leads Black Hat / Blue Team Reviews
Lead capture on opportunities targeted >$50M.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Minimum 5 years directly related Business Development or Capture experience in any of the following Air Force markets: Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), Air Force Combat Command, Air Force Mobility Command, Air Force Research Laboratories, Air Force Sustainment Center, and Air Force Test Center.
Bachelor s degree.
Experience leading capture team in pursuit of proposal efforts >$50M.
Successful past performance developing customer relationships, account strategies, developing a qualified pipeline, building industry relationships, and leading capture & proposal activities.
Experience leading customer engagement activities
Ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.
