Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a highly adaptable individual to join its Procurement and Subcontracts team in Manassas, VA. The individual must be able to work in a fast paced, challenging environment while supporting multiple proposals/programs with multiple contract types.

Duties will, but not limited to, include:

Preparing and validating recommended source lists of qualified subcontractors, drawing upon their past performance experience.

Coordinates with Engineering/Program Management while Preparing Request for Proposals and verifying accuracy and completeness of proposal packages.

Interfaces and works closely with multiple business functions to ensure proposal compliance and in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, scheduling and customer specifications.

Reviewing subcontractor proposals, determining each subcontractor s ability to meet BAE Systems and project requirements, and negotiate the terms and conditions.

Preparing subcontract documents and amendments, including identification and inclusion of cascaded requirements from the prime contract ensuring terms and conditions will be appropriate

Preparing reports and contractual correspondence for engineering and program management.

Coordinating and providing advice and interpretation of procurement/subcontract requirements to both internal and external customers. Acting as interface between program management, engineering and other external customers.

Performing price/cost analysis to ensure reasonableness of pricing for BAE Systems and all other interested parties.

Performing subcontract closeout actions, completes file documentation, and transfer files accordingly.

Performing other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Familiarity, understanding and application of the following:

Government subcontracting principles, including FAR, DFARS and Federal/State regulations

Communicates effectively, both verbally and written

Capable of executing to established processes and procedures
