Due to continued growth, BAE Systems has an opening for a Principal FPGA Design Engineer in Manassas, VA. BAE Systems is one of the world's leading defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 Company.
This position is responsible for developing complex VHDL FPGA designs that include ADC/DAC interfaces, DSP, and high speed SERDES. The targeted testbench will use a SystemVerilog/UVM methodology.
As an experienced Design Engineer, you will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers in a fast growing organization. You will also have the opportunity to be mentored by other FPGA Design and Verification Engineers in the Electronic Warfare domain knowledge.
Electronic Warfare is an ever-changing domain. As a Design Engineer there are opportunities to understand the systems level design down to the individual FPGAs. You will be working with systems engineers, other FPGA designers, and Verification Engineers in a fast-paced dynamic environment within the Radar domain.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Experience in Design for a SystemVerilog/UVM or OVM testbench
Experience with FPGA design and verification tools (Mentor Questa)
Experience with VHDL or Verilog
Familiarity with Xilinx, Altera and Microchip (acquired Microsemi)
Excellent communication skills both written and oral
Familiarity with board design methodologies
The ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance
Preferred Skills and Education
FPGA design experience in the Radar domain
Digital Signal Processing experience
Hold an active Secret clearance
