BAE Systems Equipment Maintenance Technician in Manassas, Virginia
This position will report to the BAE Space Systems Technical Operations Manager in Manassas Virginia. The team supports three different focus factories in the facility. First there is the Component Packaging and Test Manufacturing line that produces radiation hardened microprocessors, memory devices and custom ASICs for the space community. There is a new Microwave Module Assembly and Test line which produces microwave assemblies that support Identify Friend or Foe products delivered internally to our Tactical Systems product line. Lastly there is the Circuit Card Assembly line that produces a variety of space grade CCAs and boxes to the space community for commercial, civil and defense users. The team you will join is highly technical and experienced and is a welcoming team environment which will ensure learning and growth.
This position is for an experienced general equipment maintenance technician who will support installation, maintenance and troubleshoot of all equipment utilized in the three electronics manufacturing areas. Experience and familiarity with equipment used for electronics manufacturing a plus.
Performs a variety of highly complex and diversified general maintenance activities.
Installs and maintains a wide variety of pumps, blowers, motors, machine shop and other mechanical equipment.
Erects and secures staging, hoists and rigging in compliance with codes and safety practices.
Fabricates and installs hangers, brackets and other securing devices to secure equipment as necessary. Shims and balances equipment as necessary. Uses welding, cutting and other equipment as required.
Oversees the installation and movement of a variety of light, medium and heavy equipment using special tools and equipment such as staging, hoists and rigging.
Works from blueprints, equipment drawings and schematics, manufacturers' specifications and literature. Plans complex jobs, selects materials and equipment for proper completion.
Ensures that the performance of these activities are well documented.
Collects, sorts and stores hazardous waste material in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
May be required to clean and service equipment that may contain hazardous substances and to participate in the sorting and accumulation of hazardous waste materials in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
Required Skills and Education
Requires a high school or trade school diploma and at least 5 years of general maintenance experience. Experience of familiarity with equipment used in electronics manufacturing.
