Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a Semiconductor Equipment Maintenance Engineer to join our team!

At BAE Systems in Lexington, we produce infrared sensors for military and commercial night vision products, providing superior imaging, targeting, guidance, and survivability capabilities .

This position is for semiconductor equipment repair and maintenance in the wafer foundry where these sensors are made.

Work independently and closely with a small team of equipment and process engineers/technicians to support semiconductor wafer fab manufacturing activities.

Works with vendors and team members to troubleshoot and determine solutions to equipment failures.

Emergency troubleshoot and repair of semiconductor processing equipment independently. Drive hard down and atypical tool recovery efforts.

Responsible for the preventive maintenance procedure and develop written maintenance procedures for assigned equipment.

Identify and reduce recurrent machine faults. Drive continuous improvements in tool utilization, performance, safety, quality, and cost control.

Maintain equipment spares inventory and support consumables (e.g. chemicals, pumps and chiller)

Works in conjunction with Process Engineering to source, install, and qualify new equipment and processes. Provide effective project management for tool installations and qualification. Develops equipment specifications and performs acceptance testing. Close

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • 10 equipment engineering experience in semiconductor manufacturing work environment.-?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /->

  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills.

  • Board level troubleshooting skills.

  • Understand equipment schematics.

  • Willing to learn and to take responsibility.

  • Possess a positive and team-oriented attitude.

  • Must be able to carry out multiple projects at a time.

  • Strong communication, planning, organizational & interpersonal skills.

  • Strong technical skills and analytical capability

  • Experience with some if not all of the following is required:

  • Photolithography equipment and tracks

  • Ultra high or high vacuum equipment

  • Plasma processing tools

  • Wet etch tools

  • Metrology tools

  • Handling Chemicals

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Familiarity with SPC, FMEA, and standard engineering practices is a plus.
