Survivability Targeting & Sensing Solutions (STS) integrate state of the art sensors, displays and lasers into offerings that provide superior imaging, targeting, guidance, and survivability capabilities. As a Software Engineer in STS you will be provided with opportunities to increase your software skills, take part in BAE s many training programs and work closely with other highly talented engineers within our organization.

Initial assignments will focus on updates to a Test Station utilizing C#.NET to support the production and test of innovative BAE Systems products. This position will require the candidate to be able to work independently but within a multidisciplinary team to bring projects to fruition.

Position duties may include developing software designs for complex systems or subsystems. You will perform real-time, embedded software development utilizing sound Object Oriented principles, conforming to existing code development strategies and processes both independently and as part of a team. You will be designing and evaluating complex software designs to identify design flaws, troubleshoot problems during integration and test, and help with preparing design documentation in accordance with established processes. You will verify complex designs to ensure conformance with specifications and customer requirements and assist in the development of software requirements, cost estimates and the preparation of proposals. Opportunities are available to grow into a technical lead on the program where you will mentor your team and present the technical design at technical interchange meetings with the customer. You will utilize a Windows PC based software development environment.

You will provide project management reporting, documentation, and updates to internal project management. You will practice and advocate for the best software development practices as defined in our process.

Candidates will be required to obtain and keep a security clearance.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Science, or other Scientific degree with suitable software engineering content, with 6 year of experience or Master's degree in same disciplines with 4 years experience or Doctorate in same disciplines with 3 years experience.

Proficient in C# with .NET WinForms experience

Proficient in C, C

Object Oriented Design/Development

Preferred Skills and Education

Embedded Development experience

Python, Java experience a plus

Object Oriented Design/Development

Windows/Unix/Linux OS

Technical Team Lead experience a plus.
