BAE Systems Facilty Security Officer, Security Manager in Huntsville, Alabama

Job Description

This position will require the Facility Security Officer to manage with all aspects of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) ensuring the requirements of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual are implemented to prevent unauthorized disclosure of classified information. Must be able to prioritize and multi-task.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Conducts investigations of non-compliance issues and reviews security violations

Conducts security briefings

Responsible for the development with and compliance of Security Practice and Procedures (SPP)

Responsible for Security reviews to include: Defense Security Service visits and formal self-inspections, within all BAE SYSTEMS facilities

Ensuring Closed area construction requirements are met, ultimately receiving Self Certification

Knowledgeable on International requirements to include: Government to Government shipments, Foreign Visitor requirements, and Export compliance

Assist with Chapter 8 (Information Technology Security) requirements to include: development, approval and review of Automated Information Systems

Participate with the local Crisis Management Team

Along with the Asset Protection Manager, establishes and maintains physical security systems, plant protection, contingency plans and emergency response

Develops and implements improved methods of inspections, audits, and analysis of security functions to determine performance and cost effectiveness

Manages all aspects of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP)

Ensures National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM) compliance within the facility

Interprets policy, develops and implements security plans and procedures

Provides security guidance to company personnel and advises Security Director and Senior Management

Responsible for direct supervision of security staff, budget and allocation of resources Develops, and administers security programs and procedures for classified/proprietary materials, documents, and equipment. Implements federal security regulations that apply to company operations. Prepares manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitors access to restricted records and materials. Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 - 7 years of security related experience or 9 - 11 years of experience in lieu of a degree

  • Current Secret clearance

  • Experience with the PC s and office software, good report writing skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Knowledge and experience of managing classified programs

  • Must be capable of climbing ladders, walking around large campuses and lifting loads up to 40 lbs

  • Decision making and reasoning skills

  • Knowledge of contractor operations, computer, physical, technical and personnel security requirements

  • Working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM)

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Current Top Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of experience
