BAE Systems STS NPI Test Engineering Lead in Hudson, New Hampshire
BAE is seeking an experienced Test Engineer with design and manufacturing experience to join the New Product Introduction Engineering team in the STS Business Area across all STS sites. The individual should have previous experience with Design for Testability across the entire product life cycle and test value stream and must possess the ability to influence cross-functional teams to optimize testability and affordability of designs. A thorough understanding of the Product Test Roadmap as it relates to testability and the development of test strategies and processes is necessary. Previous experience with sensor systems, high-powered laser systems, complex electronic control units, fiber-optic technology, and various other IR/EO technologies is desired but not required.-?xml:namespace prefix = "o" /->
Primary Responsibilities include:
Strong Test Engineering background
Experience supporting programs across all stages of the product lifecycle
Providing a critical base of knowledge and expertise for the development of highly testable and maintainable products and test equipment
Partnering and collaborating with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain throughout product life cycle
Influence a producible and reliable test architecture in early product life
Providing Subject Matter Expert level knowledge of DTUPC development and execution strategies across various stages of product life cycles.
Understanding test cost drivers and constraints and how to mitigate them
Working with teams to develop affordability solutions that coincide with identified DTUPC efforts.
Identifying Hours Per Unit (HPU) reduction opportunities applicable to low rate and full rate production factories
Supporting proposal and cost evaluation activities
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
BS in Engineering or equivalent. Highly effective team player able to self-manage and priorities schedule and responsibilities. Must be self-motivated, independent, and an effective communicator. Must be a US citizen eligible for a DOD security clearance and will be subject to a security investigation
Preferred Skills and Education
Experience with test software and Test Program Set development (Test procedures, requirement, softeware, and Document Support Package) and test fixture design. Certified and experiences in Lean and Six Sigma methods. Previous experience with IR/EO technologies is not required but is preferred. Proficient in Excel, Visual Basic, Dataview type programs
