BAE Systems Sr Process Engineer in Hudson, New Hampshire

Job Description

BAE Systems is looking for a SR Process Engineer to support their pilot line manufacturing facility in Hudson, NH. In this role you will be required to:

Have a working knowledge of manufacturing best practices, and experience supporting and influencing manufacturbility and affordability of designs from inception through maturity preferably in an Electronics Manufacturing environment.

Provide process engineering floor support, guidance and instruction to operators in support of low volume new product introduction manufacturing.

Perform manufacturing support activities using technical knowledge of generally used assembly practices ensuring the achievement of performance within cost and schedule requirements.

Support Preliminary Material Review/Material Review Board (PMR/MRB) for the disposition of discrepant material and determination of root cause/corrective action.

Perform quality audits of hardware, pFMEA s, monitor defects, and track trends. Support/Lead factory continuous improvement activities and projects.

Perform coaching, training, and qualification for operators. Ensure timely disposition of hardware and assure thorough root cause analysis of discrepant materials. Maintain assigned projects and tasks to ensure timely completion of required needs.

Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Proven teamwork and leadership skills; able to work across boundaries with multiple functions and program teams.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Must have knowledge of requirements of AS9100C including FAI/PPV requirements.

Must exhibit initiative and be able to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision and demonstrate leadership necessary to support the manufacturing team.

Must be familiar with IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 class 3 requirements.

Strong understanding of manufacturing methods and cost improvement activities.

Highly effective team player able to self-manage, prioritize schedules and responsibilities.

Must be self-motivated, independent, and an effective communicator.

Must be a US citizen eligible for a DOD security clearance and will be subject to a security investigation

  • Lean Manufacturing

  • Statistical Process Control (SPC)

  • Data Collection and Analysis

  • Root Cause and Corrective Action methodology

  • Industry Experience in Defense Electronics Manufacturing

  • Program Level Corrective Action Board (CAB)

  • STS Paperless/Solumina Manufacturing Execution Systems

-Previous experience with IR/EO technologies

  • Experience supporting programs across all stages of the product lifecycle

  • Ability to provide a base of knowledge and expertise for the development of highly manufacturable and maintainable products

  • Ability to provide active support and strategic solutions to DTUPC, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), UPC type activities

  • Have a solid understanding of cost drivers and how to mitigate them inclusive of test yield, manufacturing yield, scrap, etc.
