BAE Systems Software Engineer in Hudson, New Hampshire
BAE Systems is seeking talented Software engineers who are looking for a company that fosters a work environment in which technical excellence is highly valued. You will be an integrated team member collaborating with System, Hardware, and Test engineers in one or more of the phases of Project Planning, Requirements Development, Design, Development, Integration and Testing. You will apply your skills to develop high-quality real-time embedded software for either new or fielded electronics platforms.
Duties include developing complex Electronic Attack software designs for systems or subsystems. You will perform real-time, embedded software development in C utilizing sound Object Oriented principles and conforming to existing code development strategies and processes. You will be evaluating complex Electronic Attack software designs to identify design flaws. You will be preparing design documentation in accordance with established processes. You will utilize a Linux based software development environment. Embedded targets range from x86 to PowerPC to Micro Blaze to the latest technologies. You will be integrating and testing in the selected target test environments.
You will provide reporting to Software Project Management and may provide updates to Program Management . You will be managing project tasks (resource allocation and scheduling) for small groups (1-3). You will participate in external project interactions with other companies.
You may support business development efforts and brief customers on technical concepts. You may generate ideas for potential proposals and be responsible for sections of proposals.
Typical Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree and 5 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Science, or other Scientific degree with suitable software engineering content, with 5 years of experience or Master's degree in same with 3 years experience or PhD in same with 0-2 years related experience.
Must be a US Citizen with at least a secret clearance or higher.
Needs to be proficient in:
Operating system installation and configuration (Linux, Windows and VMs)
Large scale COTS configuration, and integration
Server software/system infrastructure design and development
Multi-CPU/multi-threading analysis and design
Performance analysis/testing and stress testing - data rates, concurrent applications, CPU, memory
Scripting experience (bash, python, perl)
Familiar with configuration management tools (Clearcase)
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Strong communication skills
Ability to multitask
Local candidates preferred. Relocation is available for highly qualified candidates.
