BAE Systems Senior Test Engineer in Hudson, New Hampshire

Job Description

BAE Systems is looking for a Senior Test Engineering candidate to supportelectro-opticalproduct testing in its Hudson, NH pilot line facility. This position will include the following activities:

Support the transition of new products from design to manufacturing.

Test and troubleshooting ofelectro-opticalthermal imaging systems and sub-assemblies working directly with production personnel as required.

Interface with Systems Engineering, NPI, Operations, Quality, Procurement and other supporting groups to drive non-conforming product to root cause.

Support test equipment preventative maintenance schedules on a variety of test stations and test equipment.

Generate and implement improvements in test design and methodologies to reduce cost and increase throughput.

Generate and review the technical content of test procedures, drawings, engineering specifications, reports, Engineering Change Orders, and other documentation.

Interface with customers, auditors, and vendors as required.

Provide training / support to manufacturing test personnel.

Provide bids and proposals for non-recurring test engineering support to programs.

Support program level CAB.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Strong familiarity with the test, measurement and manufacturing techniques of electro-optical systems, and their lower level assemblies.

Knowledge of automated testing and process equipment used for in-process and final build and testing of electro-optical Systems such as Optical Alignment Stands.

Participate in Corrective Action Board meetings and analyze trends/drive root cause using factory test defect data to improve manufacturing yields and reduce UPC.

Demonstrated ability in applying SPC, Six Sigma problem solving and Lean manufacturing techniques.

Successful performance will require driving test improvements, production problem resolutions and integrating solutions into a lean manufacturing environment.

Must be highly motivated and have experience in leadership and team building skills, along with strong oral and written communications skills.

Capabilities in National Instruments LabWindows/CVI programming and/or other similar test software development toolsets.

Preferred Skills and Education

Familiar with manufacturing execution systems and databases.
