BAE Systems Design Drafting Checking Specialist I in Hudson, New Hampshire
BAE Systems is looking for mechanical design drafting professionals to join our established and rapidly expanding C4ISR Business Area. We are a premier provider of advanced Space, Maritime, SIGINT and SOCOM systems.
The C4ISR Business Area is seeking a CREO Design Drafting Checking Specialist.
BASIC JOB FUNCTION:
Ensure engineering drawings and associated design models meet all contract and company requirements before leaving the Design Drafting department.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluates data submitted to checking for correctness and completeness with documentation requirements.
Checks a wide variety of complex engineering data to assure accuracy, including new and changed data on multiple programs.
Utilizes knowledge of materials methods, vendor products and trade literature to ensure proper selection and identification of component parts.
May contribute to personnel performance reviews and assist management in decision process with regard to proposed salary actions of employees.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Capable of reviewing engineering data in CREO Parametric and AutoCAD.
Proficient reading and understanding Engineering Drawings and Bills of Material.
Experienced dimensioning and tolerancing IAW ASME Y14.5.
Experienced with drawing types IAW ASME Y14.24.
Experienced with drawing practices IAW ASME Y14.100-1994 or later.
Able to review and evaluate tolerance analysis.
Able to provide feedback and recommendations on drawing and design improvements.
Familiar working with a formal Product Data Manager (PDM) system.
Able to collaborate with Drafters, Designers, Engineers, Manufacturers and Suppliers.
Preferred Skills and Education
AnAssociates Degree or higher.
2 years of related checking or design experience.
Proficient in CREO Parametric 4.0.
Proficient in Dassault Systems ENOVIA PDM Version 6.
Expert proficiency in ASME Y14.5-1994 or later, and all facets of dimensioning and tolerancing.
Proficient in looking up and reading Military and Commercial Specification.
Expert reading of Engineering Drawings.
Experienced with defense electronics. (Designing Chassis', Card Cages, Backplanes, Cables, Harnesses, Assemblies, etc.)
