Job Description

The Business Development Manager, for Air Force C4ISR, is responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, and support of current business activities within the C4ISR Air Force portfolio. The Manager will also contribute to prioritization of new business pursuits, and the development of marketing plans and capture strategies across the C4ISR Business Area. The manager also provides guidance, advice, and support to the C4ISR Business Area leadership regarding Business investments and priorities. The BD Manager for Air Force ISR will report to the Vice President, C4ISR Business Development.

The Manager will interface regularly with Air Force Customers to include Air Combat Command (ACC), Air Force Material Command (AFMC), Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Program Executive Officers (PEOs), and System Program Offices (SPOs), HQ Air Staff, International Programs and the BAE Air Force Customer Requirements & Advocacy Team, to identify, qualify and create new business opportunities according to the Business Capture Process.

The Manager will develop and maintain close, trusted partner relationships with offices of senior military and civilian US Government customers, current and prospective customers, as well as industry partners and suppliers. The customers include all relevant Air Force mission areas for Requirements, Budgeting, Programming, Acquisition, fielding, and Test and Evaluation.

The Manager will be able to assist Air Force Customers in meeting their requirements and capability gaps with those capabilities, products, and technologies available or being developed in the C4ISR Business Area.

The position will coordinate with engineering personnel in preparing, editing, and presenting briefings or hosting discussions with customers highlighting BAE Systems capabilities and solutions against customer requirements and capability shortfalls. The position will also support the Business Areas through attendance at Industry Days, Symposiums, Professional Events, Conferences, and Trade Shows.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Active TS/SCI

  • Bachelor's degree and 12years of experience

  • USAF Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Requirements generation knowledge

  • C4ISR mission understanding and ISR flight plan Knowledge.

  • Ability to maintain customer relationships with Senior Government officials: Officer and Civilian Leadership, Colonel (O-6), Flag Officer and Senior Executive Service

  • Understand USAF explicit and implicit requirements and develop strategies to identify and qualifying business opportunities.

  • Senior military officer/Civilian experience (O-6/GS15 preferred)
