BAE Systems Marine Mechanic Level 4 in Honolulu, Hawaii

Job Description

Performs removal and installation of ships equipment, materials, structural components and other vessel components onboard vessels or in shop. Work with Journeyman Mechanics to overhaul pumps, and valves. Works with electric, hydraulic and pneumatic shop equipment. Use power tools to cut, remove, reinstall, and clean parts and equipment as directed by your supervisor. Operates forklifts and other heavy equipment. Conduct pre-work site safety inspections. Follow all safety requirement and regulations as set by the company and OSHA.

Required Skills and Education

  • Must be able to obtain and retain base access to Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam

  • Must be a US or Naturalized citizen

  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent

  • Must be all to work all shifts, weekends and overtime, as required

  • Must be able to board ships, enter confined spaces with limited visibility

  • Must have the ability to climb up and down stairs and/or ladders of varying heights

  • Must be able to work outdoors under all weather conditions

  • Must be physically and medically qualified to wear required personal protective equipment

  • Must have a valid drivers license

  • Must have knowledge of basic hand tools.

  • Must have knowledge of Mechanical measuring tools.

  • Must have own tools to bring to Job and conduct work. (a required tool list will be provided upon start date)
