Job Description

BAE Systems Hawaii Shipyards is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic Level 3. This position interacts with our Project Management team, Craft Manager and other Craft Departments. Responsible for assisting with the preventive maintenance and/or corrective maintenance on vehicles, equipment, tools and throughout the facility.

Assists and responsible for setting up temporary services, such as lights and ventilation onboard ships

Assists with minor electrical repairs and maintenance

Conducts fueling and assists with fuel farm operations

Operates and uses basic hand tools to perform work safely and efficiently

Responsible to check fluid levels on company vehicles

Responsible for cleanliness of shop and work areas

Perform similar, incidental and other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Education

Must be a U.S. citizen or naturalized citizen

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain base access to Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam

  • Operate and use AC and DC equipment and associated systems.

Knowledgeable with BAE general shipyard safety

regulations.

Operate and use basic hand and power tools

Conduct fueling operations (Diesel and Gasoline).

Able to attain a 4 ton fork lift operator certification with BAE.

Assist in providing Production Support services;

a. Power

b. LP air

c. Potable water

d. Fire/Flushing water

e. Ventilation

Review and complete Daily Vehicle Log.

Check vehicles and trucks fluid levels, inspect &

annotate findings to the exterior and interior.

Prepare, activate, and service wet cell batteries.

Must be a U.S. citizen or naturalized citizen

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain base access to Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam

  • Operate and use AC and DC equipment and associated systems.
